Winter Warmth Project – Distributing Warm Hats to School Children
Blackburn-based Al-Imdaad Foundation members gave a presentation at Audley Junior School on Monday 4th February 2013, explaining the importance of charity and informing pupils about their Winter Warmth Campaign which has been providing aid in over 60 countries.
Students and teachers were shown images from the recent blanket & food distributions in the disaster-relief projects that
Al-Imdaad has supported. International projects co-ordinator Zubair Valimulla stated, “This was the first of a series of visits we will be making to schools to help our children realise, and appreciate, how blessed and fortunate they are, and to consider the plight of less fortunate people around the world and think how they might help.”
Audley Junior School Deputy Head Teacher, Mr David Balding, commended the foundation, “I would like to applaud your Al-Imdaad Charity for helping anyone, irrespective of race, religion or creed, as this not only gives a strong message to all children about the importance of giving to others less fortunate than ourselves, but also reinforces the importance of community cohesion.”
The Al-Imdaad team distributed warm hats and fridge magnet calendars to each child.
