Journey of Faith
An Interfaith event inspired in memory of late Zahraa Entwistle,
Over 500 people, including friends and family of Zahraa attended this unique event entitled, 'Journey of Faith.' An ex BT employee Zahraa Entwistle, who passed away from cancer in September 2011 had done great work in promoting community cohesion, religious tolerance and cancer awareness. Her family joined with the event organisers to elaborate on all the good work she had done during her life would continue.
The event was attended by Blackburn with Darwen council leader Kate Hollern who praised the work of the Al-Imdaad Foundation as 'truly humbling.' The Mayor, Karimeh Foster also attended the event along with local councillors such as Salim Mulla and Zamir Khan and also international representatives of the Al-Imdaad Foundation from the head office in South Africa. The mayor recognised the importance of religious understanding and community cohesion in Blackburn and the world at large and praised the work done by the event at promoting the notion of, 'serving humanity,' rather than any specific religious or national group. The Al-Imdaad Foundation in support of Cancer Awareness handed over £1000 on the day which will help raise the awareness of cancer throughout Lancashire.
